About

Day Nursery Hellifield

Chipmonks is on the campus of Hellifield Primary School with its own entrance. There is a large outdoor space, safely fenced off to allow for lots of play in the fresh air.

We provide places for children aged 3 months – 5 years.

The nursery is split into 3 rooms all of whom enjoy daily access to our large enclosed garden area.

We have been awarded communication friendly setting status which means we put language and communication development at the heart of our practice ensuring children have free access to a wide variety of books, daily singing sessions and support from knowledgeable practitioners.

The Raindrop Room ( 0 -2 )

Our baby room provides a caring and nurturing environment where babies feel safe and loved. We create a warm and stimulating environment where babies can explore using all their senses. Practitioners support babies to settle and develop their confidence whilst working closely with parents to ensure we meet the routines and needs of each individual baby.

The Sunshine room (2-3)

The toddler room is a spacious and stimulating room which supports toddlers in developing their skills and engaging in a wide variety of play and activities.

Activities are planned to meet the needs and interests of each individual child and we invite children to play and explore freely.

Staff support children in developing their confidence to choose activities and areas to play independently and they support them in developing their social and communication skills.

Rainbow Room (3-4)

Our pre-school room is a room where children are supported to flourish and develop. They are encouraged to try a wide variety of activities and staff support children to become confident in choosing their own play and independent in their self-care.

We provide lots of time for children to practice getting themselves ready to play outside and we support children in managing their own hygiene practices. Activities are fun and engaging and planned with children’s needs and interests at the centre.

For us school readiness means ensuring that children are independent, confident, sociable and curious leaners with the willingness to try new things. We work with local primary schools to support children in their transition to school.
